The Lens Football Club has accepted an offer from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for Dutch defender, Ondrej Duda.

According to reports, the German club has offered Lens 40 million euros (approximately $45 million) for the player's services.

Duda, who joined Lens in January 2018, has made 76 appearances and scored four goals for the club so far this season.

He is currently on loan from PSV Eindhoven, where he has made 94 appearances and scored seven goals.

The news comes after Lens were forced to release their captain, Mathieu De Wilde, earlier this month due to financial difficulties.

De Wilde had been with the club since 2015 and was integral to their success in the French Ligue 1.

However, despite his impressive record at the club, Lens struggled financially and had to sell De Wilde to help cover their debts.

Duda's departure will be a blow to Lens, but it also presents an opportunity for them to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for RB Leipzig, having played 120 games for the club and scoring six goals.

His arrival could provide the boost that Lens needs to compete at the top level once again.
